Repeat these steps for your other eye if so directed, and if your dose is for more than 1 drop.Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use.If you are using another kind of eye medication (e.g., drops or ointments), wait at least 5 minutes before applying other medications.

Curative effect can be achieved after one injection. For severe infections one more injection can be added 24 hours after the first injection. Animals with serious dehydration can be treated concurrently with oral rehydration salt. Halve the dosage for prophylactic treatments.

Dogs that have experienced adverse reactions from one NSAID may experience adverse reactions from another NSAID. Patients at greatest risk for renal toxicity are those that are dehydrated, on concomitant diuretic therapy, or those with existing renal, cardiovascular, and/or hepatic dysfunction. Concurrent administration of potentially nephrotoxic drugs should be carefully approached. NSAIDs may inhibit the prostaglandins that maintain normal homeostatic function. Such anti-prostaglandin effects may result in clinically significant disease in patients with underlying or preexisting disease that has not been previously diagnosed.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
Diclofenac sodium has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antirheumatic antipyretic activities. It is non steroidal. It is an inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase. Diclofenac is metabolised in the liver to 4-hydroxydiclofenac and other hydroxylated forms, after glucoronidation and sulphation the metabolites are excreted in the urine (65%) and bile (35%).

INDICATIONS:
To be used as initial therapy for inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases, as well as for painful conditions due to inflammation of non-rheumatic origin and acute attacks of gout.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Patients with known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines. Asthmatic patients in whom attacks of asthma, urticaria or acute rhinitis are precipitated by acetylsalicylicacid, or other medicines with prostaglandin synthetase inhibiting activity. Diclofenac sodium is contra-indicated in patients with a history of active gastro-intestinal bleeding or peptic ulceration, or severe hepatic or renal impairment. Patients with porphyria. Safety during pregnancy and lactation has not been established.

Tramadol hydrochloride is a centrally-acting synthetic opioid analgesic binding to specific opioid receptors. It is a non-selective , pure agonist at mu, delta and kappa opioid receptors with a higher affinity for the mu receptor. Other mechanisms, which may contribute to its analgesic effect, are inhibition of neuronal re-uptake of noradrenaline and enhancement of serotonin release.

Tramadol hydrochloride does not promote histamine release.
Tramadol hydrochloride is readily absorbed following oral administration. Oral bioavailability is approximately 68% after a single dose and increases to 90% at steady state. Onset of action is dose dependent but generally occurs within one hour of dosing, peaking within 2 to 3 hours. Duration of analgesia is about 6 hours. The rate or extent of absorption is not significantly affected by co-administration with food.

The bioavailability of tramadol hydrochloride after intramuscular injection or intravenous administration is the same; the mean peak serum concentration is achieved after 45 minutes. Tramadol hydrochloride is primarily metabolised in the liver (90%) with one of its metabolites, mono-O-desmethyltramadol (M1), being 2 to 4 times as potent as the parent compound. Tramadol hydrochloride has a linear pharmacokinetic profile within the therapeutic dosage range.
Tramadol hydrochloride and its metabolites are excreted mainly in the urine. The elimination half-life is 5 to 7 hours, but is prolonged in impaired hepatic and renal function.
Tramadol hydrochloride crosses the blood-brain and placental barrier. Small amounts are excreted in breast milk unchanged or as the metabolite M1.
